Top 2012 NFL Draft Prospects: Offense

QUARTERBACK

Andrew Luck (Stanford): The most polished Quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning is the sure-fire #1 pick in the opinion of many.  His command of his team and execution pre-snap really set him apart from other prospects. Love ‘em.

Matt Barkley (USC): Been starting since his Freshman year at USC and has a chance to take a big leap this year in season 2 under Lane Kiffin. Polished pro-style QB, could get the “game manager” label.

Not sold on: Landry Jones, Oklahoma

Sleeper: Robert Griffin III, Baylor: could be the next Vick. Big fan since first start.

RUNNING BACK

Trent Richardson (Alabama): Richardson will finally become the #1 back for the Crimson Tide in 2011.  He has been the change-of-pace, compliment to Ingram since his freshman season and has made a ton of plays along the way.  Has put on bulk during his time in college and I’m real excited to see what he can do full-time.

LaMichael James (Oregon): Originally from Texas, James is listed at only 5-9 185 but don’t let his size fool you because he certainly can run it through the tackles. Could be a Reggie Bush type at the next level with his speed.

Cyrus Gray (Texas A&M): Ranked high by a number of scouts. Does a good job of finding the opening in the defense and is a stellar blocker in passing situations.

Not sold on: Daniel Herron, Ohio State

Sleeper: Onterrio McCalebb, Auburn

WIDE RECEIVER

Alshon Jeffery: Standout receiver from South Carolina who has already impressed me more than Sidney Rice did in college, which is saying something.  He’s 6-4 232, has the strength to ditch press coverage and ability to catch the ball at its peak.  He’s a game-changing receiver with deceptive speed. Love ‘em.

Justin Blackmon: Blackmon has quickly become one of the hottest prospects in the draft. Following in the footsteps of Michael Crabtree, I don’t think he should reach that acclaim just yet but paired up with Weeden with year they could put up astronomical numbers in the Big 12.

Michael Floyd: Polished possesion receiver from Notre Dame, who has been the center of controversy in South Bend after a DUI. Choose not to enter the draft after much consideration and the NFL Draft Advisory Board have him a ridiculous 3rd round grade.  Had he entered his year, I would’ve ranked him ahead of Baldwin as my #3 WR.

Not sold on: Jeff Fuller, Texas A&M

Sleeper: Greg Childs, Georgia

TIGHT END

Michael Egnew (Missouri): Widely regarded as the top TE prospect in the 2012 draft. He’s 6-6 235.  Spread TE following a decent line of predecessors.
