Fantasy Football Sleepers week 11 – 2011

Quarterbacks

Carson Palmer: Great play this week, against a suffering Vikings D

Jay Cutler: He has to be licking his lips at the opportunity to get revenge on Rivers, who embarrassed him on MNF and let him now…from accross the field XX. Chicago’s defense has gone to another level which San Diego has regressed.

Running Backs

Brandon Jacobs: Stepping in for Bradshaw once again.  Likely to wear gonna an Eagles defense that struggles against the run and is gased in the fourth quarter typically.

Kevin Smith: Went from selling cars to #2 on the depth chart and might get a chance to make an impact this week versus the Panthers.  If the Lions are gonna make a playoff push, they’ll need to get more on the ground especially with Stafford looking as shaky as last week.

Kregg Lumpkin: Could see a lot of snaps when they’re playing from behind.

Wide Receivers

  • Jerome Simpson: Had 12 catches last year vs. Baltimore. Should be targeted a lot.
  • Harry Douglas: Filling in for Jones with a decent matchup.
  • Vincent Brown: Same as above.
  • James Jones: Could get in on the action versus Biggers
  • Austin Pettis: Getting reps + targets from slot.

Tight Ends

  • Jake Ballard
  • Visanthe Shaincoe

D/ST

Patriots: no-brainer after best performance last week, get Palko.

Jaguars: Worked last week, should shutdown run game.

Fantasy Football Week 10 Sleepers and Starts

Wide Receivers: Looking to score more

Anquan Boldin: Could be leaned on early and often to help the Ravens avoid another let down. Good career numbers versus the Seahawks.

Antonio Brown: He has been hot as can be lately and been getting more targets than Wallace.  That should continue with Hall possibly matching up with Wallace Sunday.  Labeled him a sleeper back in May and as he showed (and I wrote) in the preseason, Brown aint messing around.

Laurent Robinson: A clear Week 10 Pickup, who is going to be asked to pickup some slack while Austin is out 2-4 weeks.  Has coverted on 73% of his targets which is encouraging, although the Cowboys have run a more conservative offense especially with the emergence of dynamic rookie running back DeMarco Murray.

Jason Hill: Scary to rely on anyone in Jacksonville’s offense not named Maurice Jones-Drew, especially in a matchup where MJD should see 30 carries or so, but Hill has had some kind of chemistry with Gabbert (when he’s able to chill and make a throw).  Beatable corners this week and probably available.

Damian Williams: Sneaky, slightly productive fantasy football player who could see more targets if Washington is out.

NOTE: I like Deion Branch and Jerome Simpson’s schedule for the Fantasy Football playoffs, so I would recommend making a play for Branch if you can and/or he would be of use.

Quarterbacks: If you must….

Matt Cassel: Bowe torched Champ last year and the offense now has Breaston & Baldwin who should beat Denver’s other corners like everyone else.

Jay Cutler: The Bears will be looking for revenge against the Lions after that second half beatdown a month ago.  Chicago has done a much better job protecting Cutler who has Bennett and Williams back in the fold.

Running Backs: Desperation Plays

Chris Ogbonnaya:  Last week was a big failure, but this week is more promising since St. Louis’ defense is a far cry from the Texans’.  Although they have improved from the epic, record setting struggles…they still are among the worst at stopping the run.

Kendall Hunter: The rookie is worth taking a shot on if you’re desperate.  Easiest way to bet the Giants is on the ground and SF could look to run the ball a ton with Gore and this fine prospect.  Also, if he’s available and you have room, I would definitely pick him up on the chance Gore gets hurt.

Jacquizz Rodgers: They finally have installed his package into the offense after getting 10 carries for 44 yards.  Could have a nice game and impact against the Saints.

Javon Ringer:  Again, if you’re desperate and perhaps an overambitious owner in your league dropped him after one week….he could see a split in a winnable matchup.

Most desperate: Ridley.

D/ST: Plug & Play

Jacksonville: They are coming off a bye week, which I always like, and they play the 0 and whatever Colts.  Free agent acquistions have been paying off and they always play the Colts well.  Not many turnovers or sacks on the season, but I can definitely see a nice day here with low downside.
